Small Group Training
Train with a small group of women while still getting coaching, form cues and individual attention. The room stays intimate, the energy stays supportive, and nobody gets lost in a crowd.
Maximum 5 women per session

1:1 and small-group weightlifting coaching in a private home garage gym — built for women who want real strength, real muscle, and a more comfortable place to train.
Barbell Sisterhood is a women-only strength training space built for women at every starting point — including the woman who has never picked up a dumbbell in her life.
We train with dumbbells, barbells, resistance equipment, and machines, using progressive overload to gradually build strength and muscle over time. You’ll learn how to lift safely, how to use the equipment, how to choose the right weight, and how to keep progressing as you get stronger.
You do not need to know what you’re doing before you walk in.
If the weight room has always intimidated you, this is a safe place to learn. Our community is encouraging, the groups are small, and nobody expects you to already be “good at” lifting. I genuinely love introducing women to strength training, so if you’ve never lifted weights before, come lift with me.
And if you already know your way around a weight room? You’re welcome here too. Maybe you’re looking for more consistency, coaching, accountability, or simply a convenient place to train where your kids can come with you.
Whether you’re learning your first squat or working toward your next PR, we’re here to get stronger together.

Training happens in my home garage gym in Huntington Beach — an appointment-based, intimate setup designed to feel welcoming and low-pressure while still giving you everything you need to lift seriously.
All coaching centers on strength training — barbells, dumbbells, cables and progressive resistance — built to help you get stronger and build muscle.

Join the Sisterhood →For a lot of women, finding time to train is harder than the workout itself. Kids are welcome to come with you to your session, so motherhood does not automatically have to mean putting your own strength on hold.
The environment stays small and familiar — the kind of place where real life can exist alongside serious training.

I started strength training at 35 years old. I was 11 months postpartum, still breastfeeding, working full-time in a director role, raising my kids, and feeling completely disconnected from the body I was in.
I knew I needed to make some lifestyle changes. I wanted to feel good in my body again, but just as importantly, I wanted more energy for my kids and something that made me feel strong again.
The funny thing is, I had wanted to lift weights for years. I would buy gym memberships, walk into the gym determined to start, look over at the weight section…and get intimidated. I didn’t know what any of the equipment did. I didn’t know what exercises to choose. I felt like everyone else knew exactly what they were doing and I didn’t belong there. So I would go stand on a treadmill instead. And I never really made progress.
At 35, I finally hired a personal trainer and learned the basics. Once someone showed me how to actually lift weights, everything changed. I fell completely in love with strength training. I became a total gym rat. I wanted to get stronger. I wanted to understand programming. I started learning more about nutrition because I wanted to maximize the work I was putting in. What started as an attempt to change my body gradually became a lifestyle that I genuinely loved.
Three years later, the physical transformation is obvious to me — but that honestly isn’t the part that means the most. Strength training has improved my mental health, my confidence, my patience, and my energy. It has changed the way I show up for my kids and the way I feel moving through everyday life. The benefits have reached far beyond the gym.
And somewhere along the way, I became that friend — the one trying to convince every woman I know to come lift weights with me. That’s how Barbell Sisterhood started.
I hear women say all the time that they don’t necessarily want fitness advice from someone whose life looks nothing like theirs. They want to learn from women who understand what it’s like to work a full-time job, raise children, figure out dinner, school schedules, bath time and bedtime — and somehow still try to carve out a little time for themselves.
I didn’t start lifting at 19. I didn’t build my life around fitness. I figured this out in my mid-30s while working full-time and raising a family.
And I wanted to create the kind of place I wish I had when I was standing in that commercial gym staring nervously at the weight room.
Barbell Sisterhood is a private, intimate strength-training space inside my home garage gym in Huntington Beach. Small-group sessions are intentionally capped at five women so nobody gets lost in a crowd. Your kids are welcome. You don’t have to know how to lift before you come. You don’t have to already be “in shape.” And you definitely don’t have to feel comfortable walking into a huge commercial gym.
You just have to be willing to start.
My goal is to make strength training more accessible for women with real, busy lives — and to give them a comfortable place to learn what their bodies are capable of. Because I know firsthand how much can change when a woman starts getting strong.
Everything you need to know before your first session — from what to wear and where to park to bringing your kids, booking, credits, cancellations, pregnancy, and more.
No. The free Zoom consultation is completely optional.
If you already know you’re ready to get started, you can purchase a package and book your first session right away. Before your first workout, you’ll complete a brief health and fitness assessment through My PT Hub so I can learn more about your experience, goals, injuries, and anything else I should know before we train together.
Absolutely. Beginners are very welcome here.
If you don’t know the difference between a barbell and a dumbbell yet, you’re still in the right place. I’ll teach you how to use the equipment, perform the movements, choose appropriate weights, and gradually build your confidence and strength.
If you’re completely new to lifting, I recommend starting with a 1:1 coaching session before joining a small-group class, but it is not required.
You’re welcome too.
I work with different experience levels and can adjust your training based on your current abilities, strength level, and goals. More experienced lifters can still benefit from technique coaching, programming, accountability, progressive overload, and an extra set of eyes on their form.
Small-group classes are capped at 5 women.
Keeping the groups small allows you to have the community and energy of a group workout while still receiving individual coaching and attention.
Classes are still held even if only one person is booked.
Small-group classes and private 1:1 coaching are purchased separately.
1 class credit = 1 small-group class. Class credits cannot be used to book private 1:1 coaching.
Private coaching is purchased as either a single 1:1 session or a 4-session package.
Class packs and 1:1 coaching session packages expire 90 days after the date of purchase. Packages and sessions are tied to the individual client and cannot be transferred to another person.
Yes. If there is an open spot, you can book a class on the same day.
Classes can generally be booked up to approximately two weeks in advance. If a class is full, you can join the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, the next person on the waitlist will have the opportunity to take it.
Wear something you feel comfortable moving and lifting in.
Leggings, shorts, fitted tops, T-shirts, tanks, and sports bras are all completely fine. I actually prefer clothing that allows me to clearly see your movement and positioning so I can better coach your form.
For shoes, flatter and more stable footwear is generally best for strength training. Converse, Vans, flat training shoes, or similar styles work well.
You’re also welcome to lift in your socks.
For safety, completely barefoot training is not permitted.
You really don’t need much.
I provide the strength equipment, resistance bands, Versa Grips, and water.
You’re welcome to bring your own water bottle, towel, lifting accessories, coffee, or energy drink if you prefer.
Yes. Kids are welcome during both private coaching sessions and small-group classes.
Barbell Sisterhood was intentionally created to make strength training more realistic for women with children.
Newborns, babies, toddlers, and older children are welcome. Babies can remain in a stroller, children can relax on the couch and watch TV, and I have some outdoor toys available for kids who want to play in the driveway.
You’re also welcome to bring more than one child.
No. There is no childcare provided.
You remain responsible for supervising your child during your session.
Children cannot enter the active lifting area or touch weights, barbells, machines, racks, bands, or other training equipment.
Every child is different, and I understand that training with kids sometimes requires flexibility. I’ll work with you whenever reasonably possible.
If a situation becomes unsafe, I may pause or end the session. The first time this happens because of a child-safety concern, the session can be rescheduled. If the same safety issue continues in future sessions, the credit may be forfeited.
Yes, but food needs to stay off the gym flooring.
Children can eat snacks outside on the driveway.
If your child has a serious food allergy, please let me know. We can discuss what accommodations may be needed during the sessions you attend.
Please keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or another illness that may be contagious.
Children should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and vomiting/diarrhea-free for at least 24 hours before coming to the gym.
I’m also a parent, so I understand that young children sometimes seem to have a runny nose or lingering cough forever. In those situations, use your best judgment.
The same general illness guidelines apply to clients.
If you have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or believe you may be contagious, please stay home.
For ordinary lingering symptoms such as a mild cough or runny nose, use your best judgment and consider the other women and families sharing the space.
Yes.
Pregnant clients are welcome, but I require written clearance from your physician confirming that you are medically cleared to participate in resistance or weight training before we begin.
Exercises can be modified based on your experience, comfort, stage of pregnancy, and medical guidance.
Once your medical provider has cleared you to return to resistance or weight training, you are welcome to begin.
This applies whether you had a vaginal delivery, C-section, or a more complicated delivery.
There is no additional waiting period imposed by Barbell Sisterhood once your medical provider has cleared you.
Your training will be adjusted appropriately based on where you are postpartum, your comfort, your experience level, and your current abilities.
Please disclose existing injuries, limitations, or relevant medical concerns in your initial My PT Hub assessment.
If something hurts during a workout, stop immediately and tell me.
Depending on the situation, I may ask you to obtain medical clearance before continuing.
Barbell Sisterhood provides strength coaching, not physical therapy or medical treatment.
Yes.
Exercises can be adjusted based on your experience level, strength, pregnancy or postpartum status, current abilities, and other individual needs.
Appropriate exercise alternatives will be provided whenever reasonably possible.
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled session or class.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time will result in the applicable credit being forfeited.
A no-show means that you do not arrive for your scheduled session at all, and the credit will also be forfeited.
True emergencies will be handled individually and at my discretion.
If Barbell Sisterhood needs to cancel your session, your credit will be returned.
You can still come.
However, your session will still end at its originally scheduled time.
For example, if your class runs from 10:00–11:00 AM and you arrive at 10:15, you are welcome to join, but the class will still end at 11:00.
The same applies to private 1:1 sessions.
You will not lose your credit simply because you arrive late.
Street parking is available near the gym.
The exact address is provided after you book. Barbell Sisterhood is located near the Lake Street and Adams Avenue area of Huntington Beach.
Please park on the street and walk down the driveway directly to the garage.
You can arrive up to 5 minutes before your scheduled session.
The gym will open approximately five minutes before class begins.
Please walk directly down the driveway into the garage.
There is no need to knock on the front door or enter the house when you arrive.
Yes. Clients and their children may use the bathroom inside the home when needed.
The gym is not fully climate controlled.
There is a fan for warmer days and a heater for cooler days. Fortunately, Huntington Beach weather is generally pretty temperate, so most days are comfortable for training.
Drinks are completely fine, including water, coffee, and energy drinks.
The only major rule is no food on the gym flooring.
If you or your child needs a snack, please eat it outside on the driveway.
Yes. Adult training clients are women.
Children of any gender are always welcome to accompany their parent.
Because Barbell Sisterhood is a small, private training environment, sessions are reserved for participating clients and their children. Non-participating adult guests, spouses, and partners should not attend or watch sessions.
Group classes are designed for adults ages 18 and older.
Private 1:1 coaching for teenage girls may be available with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.
Absolutely — if she is participating.
Anyone who wants to try a class will need to create their own client account, complete the required health assessment and liability waiver, and purchase their own Drop-In Class Credit before participating.
Please do not bring non-participating friends or adult guests to hang out during your session.
Yes.
Every participating client must complete the required liability waiver and health assessment before their first training session.
Only with your consent.
As part of your onboarding paperwork, you can choose whether or not you consent to photos or videos being taken and used.
You are also welcome to film your own lifts.
If another client or child would appear in the background of your video, you must ask for their permission first. If they are not comfortable being recorded, please wait until they are out of the frame before filming.
Once you become a client, communication, booking, cancellations, and scheduling are handled through My PT Hub.
If you’re running late or need to make a change to your appointment, please use the app.

Because Barbell Sisterhood is a small owner-operated studio, there may occasionally be schedule adjustments, holiday closures, or vacation closures.
The most current availability will always be reflected in the My PT Hub calendar.
